Urban Decay Vice Palette: Pics and Review

This is one of the newest palettes from Urban Decay, a company known for their high quality eye shadows. I had a coupon to Sephora and decided this palette would be a great thing to use it on!

Pros:
-20 different shades
-Bright colors as well as neutrals
-Very pigmented
-Excellent packaging (press the button on the front and the cover opens for you!)
-Comes with a high quality, dual-ended brush that you will actually use
-Great for travel
-Great value ($60 for 20 eyeshadows, a roughly $350 value)
-Perfect gift idea for the makeup lover

Cons:
-Very few matte colors (3)
-Price- still quite expensive

As you can see, there are very few cons to this product! Urban Decay is a fantastic brand to go to when you want a collection of eyeshadows- they have so many to offer and you will very rarely be dissapointed with any of them! I am very happy with this purchase so far! Has anyone picked this one up for the holiday season?

Happy Holidays!

Holiday Head to Toe: Green & Gold!

Remember the look I created before for an outfit put together by Eldy's Pocket? Here is another one to go with a gorgeous green and gold holiday party ensemble!

Step 1: Prime the eyelid for eyeshadow using a white or skin colored cream eye shadow: MAC Paint Pot in Painterly
This will help the color of the eye shadow you put on afterwards stand out more and it will prevent creasing.

Step 2: Put a gold colored eye shadow in the tear duct area, the inner 3rd of the eyelid and the inner 3rd of the lower lash line: Urban Decay Blitz

Step 3: Take a piece of tape and place it at the corner of your eye so that there is straight line between the corner and the end of your eyebrow. Use a sparkly deep green colored eye shadow and put it next to the gold eye shadow to the end of the eyelid almost up to the tape: Urban Decay Junkie

Step 4: Take a black eye shadow and put it at the corner of your eye right against the tape, overlapping the green: Urban Decay Black Market

Step 5: Blend all of the eye shadows together with a clean brush.

Step 6: Remove the tape and clean up any fall out with make up remover. Take the green eye shadow you used before and run it along the lower lash line, not overlapping the gold.

Step 7: Line the water-line with a black eyeliner. Coat your lashes with mascara and then apply dramatic false lashes: Josie Maran Eyeliner in Black Raven, Ardell false lashses + L'Oreal Telescopic mascara

Step 8: Apply foundation, concealer and blush- also powder to set your makeup: Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua in 20, Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch concealer in Radiant, NARS blush in Torrid.
Apply your foundation and concealer last so that you can clean up any eye shadow that falls onto your face before hand.

Step 9: Apply a nude lipstick and a nude gloss to create an understated lip:
With such dramatic eyes and outfit, downplaying the lips will keep everything balanced: Revlon Lip Butter in Creamsicle and BUXOM lip gloss in Samantha

You're done!

Christmas Chrazy Nails!

It's ok to go a little crazy with your festiveness this time of year! I know this is over the top but I love it!
Candy Cane: Simply use a nail dotting tool to create red dots, spaced apart. Once the red has dried a bit fill in the spaces with white dots. You can get a set of 4-5 double ended nail dotting tools for less than $3 on Amazon.

Snow: Use the nail dotting tool to create a bunch of white dots at the tip of your nail, space them out more as you go down your nail.

Santa Hat: I used the nail dotting took to dot along the tip of my nail with a red nail polish. I then used a sweeping motion to pull some of the polish down into a curve. Use the dotting tool to create the white parts of the hat.

Christmas Ornament: I used a hole puncher to punch a hole in a piece of tape. I think placed the tape over my nail and painted over the circle. Use a silver or gold color to make the hook part. Mine didn't turn out as a hook but close enough :-). Use a tiny bit of white nail polish to create the look of shine.

Christmas colors! On your face?

I got a green eyeliner in my Birchbox {I'll be doing a post on everything I got in my most recent Birchbox in the next day or two} and I was wondering how green eyeliner could possibly look good! But if there is ever a time to wear green eyeliner its during the holidays! So I did a little tutorial about how to subtly sport Christmas colors without looking totally crazy! Enjoy!

Take a gold eyeliner or eye shadow and make a thick line along your upper lashline, create a flick on the outer corner

Use the green eyeliner to trace a thin line over the gold, follow the line of the flick.

Curl your lashes and apply mascara

Apply a red lip stick. This is an under-stated orangey color because I was going somewhere casual but you could easily pull off a full on red lip because the eyes are very subtle!

2: Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eyeliner in Koi
3: Eyeko liquid liner in Olive
